Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?

I stole a title again, what's wrong with me?

Mindy Kaling - Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
Roopa Farooki - Bitter Sweets

Mindy: To be fair, it's an amazing title and it translates to what the book is all about, well, kinda. And I remember that because I just recently finished reading it. It's an extremely easy read and terribly funny (funny as in laughing alone on the train like a crazy person). It's pretty much a journey through Mindy's life without all the bs that characterizes an everyday autobiography, and  it doesn't feel like an autobiography, it should feel like a super long and interesting stand up act. It should, but it didn't for me because I didn't finish it in two days, I'd been reading it forever, and there was a time when I'm pretty sure I lost it. What I mean is, it took me six months, probably more. But I loved every single paragraph.

Here We Go Again

It translates to Bitter Sweets, believe me, I googled it.
This is very simple, I stole this book from my brother years ago when he won a bunch of things as a prize for winning his high school's math olympics.
The book is about three different generations in a family and how the lies and secrets from the past may haunt them and potentially destroy their lives. Sounds like a soap, I know, but that's me trying to simplify it. And obviously that's not all but I don't want to give anything away. It's not what I'd normally read but I'm glad I gave it a try. It keeps you hooked, it does what a good book is supposed to do.
Funny thing is: it's been a few years and I remember reading this book but I don't remember finishing it so here we go again.

Stay tuned, follow the label "Books" for more.
